Our Activities
AWEC works with schools and households in the communities neighbouring Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kanungu District in Uganda. AWEC educates school children and communities about the value of water, good sanitation, and hygiene practices.

Key Outcomes
- Sustainable good WASH practices in schools led by student change agents and community members who have established model homes from which other families can learn
- Reduced levels of absenteeism by girls in school especially during menstruation
- Economic empowerment for communities through water committees which engage members in village loans and savings associations where they can save and invest in micro projects
- Improved community health due to reduction in water-borne diseases
